2020 had come and I already think of Valentine’s Day. I know, I know… Call me crazy but that’s me! I don’t usually decorate for Valentine’s day but decided to do a few things this year. One, being this Diy Heart Sweater. It was so easy to do and fun to wear this time of year.
This diy was very inexpensive and didn’t take much time at all, which is right up my alley.
I purchased a Hanes sweater at Target for super cheap, any sweater is fine to use.
I took a piece of construction paper, folded it in half, then drew one side of a heart, then cut along the line I drew.
I then found the place I wanted my heart cutout to go, which was smack dab in the middle.
I used chalk to outline the heart, since I knew it would easily come off in the wash.
I used Martha Stewart’s Pearl Acrylic Paint. I love how you can use this paint on clothes and it doesn’t come off, there’s so many possibilities!
I painted the heart three times to make sure it was all covered. It dries quickly, but I let it sit overnight, then washed it and it came out just fine!
That’s all there is to it! It’s not 100% perfect, but I’m certainly impressed with the way it came out! I’ll be rockin’ this sweater around for Valentines Day! Have you ever used paint on a sweater? What do you think of the heart sweater? I’d love to know! As always, thanks for stopping by!
