A while back (before this blog was ever created) I was looking through the “P Barn” catalog and spotted a moss-covered letter. I immediately fell in love with it and then I looked down to see the price and I about fell out….$79.00 for a letter covered in moss! For any of us crafters out there, we would never pay that amount for something we can make ourselves. My version was $7.50!
Items I used for this project:
- Cardboard Letter
- Moss Sheets
- Glue Gun
- Scissors and Craft Knife
I went to Jo Ann’s with coupons in hand and got a cardboard letter “A” and a package of moss by the sheet. The moss was around $5.00 and the letter was $2.50.
I don’t have an exact tutorial but I did take a couple of pictures along the way. This will give you an idea of what everything looked like before.
Lay your letter down and just cut around it. I hot glued each piece I cut out as I went along.
My letter measures around 12 1/2″
This sheet moss is super easy to work with. It was easy to glue pieces together, you can’t even tell where the moss was cut.
I knew exactly where I was going to put it too…On my mantle I just redecorated.
