We all have to clean our toilets…unless you are lucky enough to have a maid or housekeeper.
Even then, there are times it needs some freshening up.
Our mission was to find a homemade recipe that was all-natural and effective, and smelled wonderful!
Happy to say we came across this recipe for Homemade Toilet Bowl Fizzies that we just love!
Toilet Bowl Fizzie Recipe recipe from Woodard
We adapted the recipe to fit our personality. Read through the original recipe in the link above and decide to follow it or make some of your own changes.
20 drops of essential oil. We used a combination or Rosemary, Eucalyptus and Peppermint
1/2 teaspoon vinegar cup baking soda
1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup citrus acid
Large mason jar
In the large bowl add the baking soda and citrus acid and mix thoroughly with a fork and set aside.
In the medium bowl, combine vinegar, peroxide, and essential oils.
Slowly, and a little at a time, add the vinegar/peroxide mixture to the large bowl of baking soda and citrus acid.
Mix all together with a fork.
Spoon mixture into mold and press into place.
Set aside to harden. The recipe says to place in the refrigerator, which we DID NOT.
Once hardened, carefully remove from mold and store in a jar.
To use drop one in the toilet bowl, let it fizz, and use your brush to clean. Flush.
Makes about 30 fizzes.
Use these to freshen and clean your toilet bowl.
Make sure to caution the family that these are NOT food!
Possibly make a label of some sort to put on the jar.
We used 3 different molds to make our fizzes…we like all the different looks.
Why have ugly cleaning products!?
We are thinking these would make a great housewarming gift, or just because of gift!
