One of the things I love about a Farmhouse American French Style is decorating with enamelware especially in the colors of white enamel and black. Ever since I decorated my kitchen area in black and white for Christmas, I fell in love with these two colors and how they looked in our kitchen area. Recently I decided to bring back these two colors in our everyday home decor by adding a few DIY handcrafted pieces using gift wrap creating a vignette on our countertop area and here on our open shelving dry goods station with some fun quick and easy how-to DIY fake Enamelware.

Watering Can DIY with Spray Enamel

  • Cleaned and taped off black portion of handle with blue painters tape
  • Spray Painted watering can with Rust-oleum Gloss Protective Enamel
  • Let dry
  • Outlined the rim, edge of spout and bottom rim with a Black Sharpie Pen fine point
  • fill with greenery

Pitcher Makeover to Look like Enamelware

  • Cleaned and removed denim
  • Spray Painted pitcher with Rust-oleum Gloss Protective Enamel
  • Let dry
  • Outline rim and spout with a fine point black sharpie pen
  • Outlined and fill in the handle with a black sharpie pen
  • Measure and cut a pieced strip of black and white material (I used a Black and white table-cloth) wrap around the pitcher and tie in a knot

  • Clean galvanized tin bucket
  • Spray Paint bucket with Rust-oleum Gloss Protective Enamel
  • Let dry
  • Outline top and bottom rim with fine point black sharpie pen
  • Fill in the centers of the embossed pattern with black sharpie creating a pattern to look like a center of a flower
  • add a small square piece of black and white checked piece of material and hang over the rim of the planter
