Doesn’t that sound like the most genteel pumpkin ever? Someone should write a book… Anyhoo, I have a fun little project for you today. This seriously was the easiest thing ever to do. I wonder why I didn’t think of it 10 years ago.
It just makes me smile.
To make this little generous pumpkin you’ll need one of those crave-able pumpkins from your local craft store. They were 60% off at JoAnn’s last I checked.
To take the top of the pumpkin off you’ll need a bone saw.
Yes, you heard me.
Get one of those saws that the horrid people in scary movies use.
My local hardware store calls them ‘handsaws’ but whatever.
We both know better, don’t we?
Once the top is off, you now have a fun candy dish with a lid!
All that’s left is to paint it up anyway you want. I chose to paint mine with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paints in Ironstone and Trophy.
The Target Dollar spot had these cute little chalkboard stickers. I thought this would be perfect for ‘the giving pumpkin’.
I thought about having the tag say ‘keep out, these are Mom’s!”
But I thought it would be a bit more subtle to just get dark chocolate with almonds.
After all, kids don’t really like health food. And everyone knows that dark chocolate with almonds might as well be an anti-oxident tablet.
Have you been wearing your ‘crafty pants’ lately? I’d love to hear about it!
