Rustic Pine Cone Christmas Tree

I’ve been using pine cones often of late. I think they’re really pretty in any condition: natural, painted, glittered, or even deconstructed into petal form! Since I have so many of them at my disposal , I decided to make a pine cone tree for the holidays!

Starting base for pine cone tree… a scratched charger plate.

I started hot gluing the natural, untreated cones to the plate and built layer upon layer. I tried to achieve the shape of a Christmas tree by choosing pine cones of similar size for each layer.

I think it makes a pretty tabletop decoration for our home! I will use it as a centerpiece in a rustic table scape in the kitchen at some point this holiday season.
