Many of us have fridges that don’t quite fill the entire space allotted for them in our kitchens. Our fridge had about 4 inches to spare between itself and the wall. Other than storing a broom there and a few dust bunnies, it was just a waste of space.
I can fit too much into this 4-inch deep shelf it’s crazy! All of my spices, crackers, cake decorating items, snacks, extra tea, cookies… the list goes on. Not to mention I gained so much extra space in my other kitchen cupboards that this frightening scene is no longer the case lol. Gah! A wall of baking supplies ready to explode into some kind of haphazard wanna be science experiment!
Happily, this is what that small cupboard looks like now.
So the point? Don’t pass over those little spaces. You really can make something of them and take your kitchen back from rogue pantry items!
All this project took was some wood for the frame and shelving, thin trim to create a ‘lip’ on the fronts of each shelf so the product would not fall off, some thin material for backing, a handle, and two basic castors so it can slide in and out. It was finished with leftover paint from when we redid our kitchen cabinets. Again, LOVE!
*No specifications/measurements were provided for this project since the amount of space available in each home will vary.
