Who doesn’t love spending time at the water! Be it the beach, ocean, shore, bathtub whatever you want to call it! This craft project was something we really wanted to try after seeing the inspiration for it here! We love the clean updated look, and for the price, well it goes without saying.

For this project you will need:

  • Soap dish {ours is from the Dollar Store}
  • Seashell
  • Gorilla Glue
  • Spray paint {we used the color Dover}

What you need to do: Spray paint your seashell {sorry about the poor quality photos. Using an older camera and was out under the lattice patio} You will only need one seashell for this project. Make sure your soap dish is clean and dry. Decide the placement of your shell by playing around with it first, before applying glue.

Once you are happy with the placement of the seashell, apply your glue onto the shell.{ We ended up using quite a bit more glue than normal to get the shell adhered to the soap dish since the shell and dish had little surface area to work with in terms of placement. So the glue is a little noticeable without the soap in the dish.}You will need to prop the shell up against some books or something to stabilize it while it tries.

And for the finished product…

We are happy with the results aside from the excess glue spillage and poor quality photo! The inspiration piece, had feet on it and we liked that a lot, but unless of course, we run across a soap dish in the near future with feet on it, this will have to do for now! We have another idea to share with you tomorrow that is related to the beach trend that is taking place in decor!
