Valentine’s Heart Shirt
Can you believe that February is right around the corner?? Didn’t we JUST celebrate Christmas? I guess time just flies when you are having fun!!
Poor little Valentine’s day, stuck in one of the coldest times of the year. Oh well, we will keep warm and be sweet to our loved ones.
Since it can actually get cold here in Florida (and we all wear long sleeves and feel like we are in the PNW for a couple of days), then I thought I would make a fun long-sleeve project and share it with you all. Here is my Valentine’s {Heart} Shirt! See I’m being sweet to my loved ones… awwwwwww
This was such a simple project that I did it while we had a carpenter at the house and 6 kids running in and out–so you see, you don’t have to be sane and make this little goodie…
I had never cut fabric before with my silhouette and thought this would be an easy way to get my feet wet.
Here are my supplies:
The shirt is from Target and the red fabric is a fat quarter from JoAnn’s. The fabric interfacing and fabric blade are both from Silhouette. I just followed the directions on the packaging and ironed the interfacing onto the red fabric.
After trimming the fabric and removing the paper backing, I simply cut out the design with my machine.
Then I hand-stitched it on with white thread so that it would stay put after I wash it. What do you think??
Would you wear something like this? I’m a little afraid of what The Pretty Girl will say or think of it–yes, we are entering that phase…
